German butcher, Gabriel Road
The "Black Forest Butchery" on Gabriel Road is something special for meat and sausage lovers. The butcher's shop was founded in 1984 by Winfried Lindinger. He completed his 3-year apprenticeship as a butcher 5 years later with a master craftsman's certificate. He worked in the butcher's trade in Germany for 14 years before opening his first own butcher's shop in Cape Town in 1981. All employees are well trained and feel responsible for offering the (primarily regular) customers the best quality of service. The products are made in the traditional German way, without using preservatives or other artificial additives. The meat parts can develop to their specific maturity - e.g. 2-3 weeks for beef steaks - and are always of the best quality. In addition to the classic butchery products, homemade German specialities are offered, such as Schwaebische Maultaschen and Spätzle, as well as pretzels, chocolate, sauces and much more imported from Germany.
Gabriel Road Shopping Center

This is arguably the best Pick 'n Pay franchise in Cape Town (and probably elsewhere as well). Vegetables and fruits are of good quality, and the bakery is busy the day long, always providing fresh baked goods.
In short, the perfect supermarket for everyday shopping. There is also good parking, and there is a well-stocked beverage and liquor store across the street.
