In the Self-Catering Cottages/Chalets category, the Constantia Cottages were named HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by the AA, the South African counterpart of the German ADAC, as part of the AA Quality Assured Accommodation Program and even rated SUPERIOR in the Self-Catering Apartments category.

4.8 points out of 5.0 = "Excellent" in 2024, 162 reviews in total (as at February 2025), No. 2 of 21 special accommodations in Constantia (as at February 2025). For the years 2015, 2016 and 2017, the Constantia Cottages was awarded the "CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE" by the evaluation platform tripadvisor.com, which indicates a consistently high rating of the guests in the affected calendar year. In subsequent years, the criteria for this award were significantly changed to our disadvantage. The decisive factor now primarily depends on direct bookings for "holiday homes" through their sister portal, rather than reviews for "hotels," including third-party bookings in general.

Constantia Cottages | Cape Town

The Constantia Cottages are located in the heart of the famous and most beautiful suburb of Cape Town, Constantia, amid the green vines of the oldest Winelands on the Cape, close to many of the renowned Cape restaurants. It offers close access to the main motorways and is only two minutes away from "Constantia Village" and "Constantia Emporium" with supermarkets, boutiques and restaurants. The beaches and golf courses at False Bay can be reached in a 20-minute drive and the city of Cape Town in just over 30 minutes.

All apartments and cottages have an open kitchen to the living room/area, which is equipped with high-quality appliances such as a large fridge/freezer, a ceramic or induction hob, an extractor hood, a microwave oven and a sink and all the small but essential kitchen tools. The larger residential units also have an oven, washing machine, tumble dryer and/or dishwasher.

The two large apartments have two separate bedrooms, the larger of the junior suites has a separate bedroom. The two smaller properties are one-room apartments, i.e., a combined living, sleeping, dining area, and kitchen unit. Powerful air conditioning units ensure the right room temperature. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which has a bathroom cabinet with a washbasin and a shower cubicle or a walk-in shower; some also have a bathtub, a room heater and a heated towel rail.

In the apartments and in the entire outdoor area, guests have a fast, data volume-unlimited 200mbps/100mbps fibre optic connection to the Internet. For further entertainment, smart TVs with a screen diagonal of up to 143cm are available, which are directly connected to the Internet. Some streaming services are pre-assigned for a free reception.

Our guests have access to the lush garden, which is illuminated with lamps and spotlights at night. Sun loungers with side tables and parasols are available by the swimming pool. Our Pool Bar and the Barbecue Area with Weber kettle grill, a stone seating area with fluffy cushions and an open fireplace invite you to linger.

The 45 square meters solar-heated swimming pool is available to all guests, which is illuminated at night with spotlights under the water's surface. A robot, which can also be called a "vacuum cleaner in the water", ensures the permanent cleaning of the pool. A protective tarpaulin ensures that water evaporation is largely reduced during swimming breaks and at night.

Our security concept consists of four components

  1. Burglar protection with stable entrance doors and double-glazed windows,
  2. Extensive lighting of the entire property, which creates a great atmosphere at night,
  3. Elaborate alarm system with motion detectors in the entire outdoor area, which is connected to a security service, as well
  4. Video surveillance around the building with 16 cameras.

We are largely independent of the public system with our water supply and use our own well water for gardens, swimming pools and other requirements. A highly efficient heat pump supplies us with hot water distributed over an energy-saving ring main. The process water from the bathrooms is roughly cleaned and pumped into the garden via a specially installed pipe system.

There are three first-class golf courses in the immediate vicinity ....

Steenberg Golf Club

18 holes (par 72) 6,424 meters - built by Peter Matkovich, it circles the club's own Steenberg Country House. The course is beautifully located on the back of Table Mountain on the gentle foothills of the Silverline Mountain and the 'Elephant's Eye'. It begins on the wooded, lower-lying part of the property on which the first 6 holes are located. The area changes dramatically on the following holes. Large grass bunkers, rocky mountain rivers and strategically placed water hazards are now the rules. In addition, slopes on many fairways make the game more challenging. Soft spikes required.

Westlake Golf Club

The beautiful Westlake golf course (par 72) is located near Lakeside, at the foot of the Silvermine Mountains, with a view of the Helderberg and Silvermine Mountains around False Bay. The origins of the square date back to 1932. Since then, it has been continuously expanded and improved. The rich vegetation offers good wind protection so that you can play all year round without great hindrance, which makes the parkland course extremely popular.

Atlantic Beach Golf Club, Cape Town

Young championship course (par 72) in links-style, built in the tradition of St. Andrews and Pebble Beach. The course is located on the west coast of Cape Town, approximately 45 minutes drive from the centre and offers excellent views of Table Mountain and the sea.

Ideal, it couldn't be better, in the shopping centre 'Constantia Village' located 3 minutes away. Supply of wines from the region directly in our properties (delivery from the wineries).

The multi-ethnic state of South Africa is also reflected in the extraordinary variety of food and drinks. There are excellent Indians, sophisticated Malays and Thais, down-to-earth Germans or traditional Boers. You can dine home-style or exclusive.

All of our holiday homes have a robust backup power system in case of a power outage. Some of the houses are solar-powered. The living rooms are equipped with internet-enabled smart TVs, and the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. All living rooms and bedrooms are air-conditioned with modern appliances. Our guests enjoy internet access with unlimited data (mostly via fibre optic connection with speeds of 300–150 Mbps).
The TGCSA (Tourism Grading Council of South Africa) has rated the five Constantia Cottages accommodations as 4-star properties, and the AA (Automobile Club of South Africa) has described them as "OUTSTANDING" and "HIGHLY COMMENDED."
