Welcome to Cottage Riesling, a modern and light-filled retreat in the green surroundings of Constantia.
This beautifully furnished cottage offers 48 m² of indoor living space and everything couples, small families, friends, or business travellers need for a relaxed stay in Cape Town. The large glass frontage and seamless connection to the approximately 50 m² outdoor area make the cottage feel especially open and spacious.
The heart of the cottage is the bright living area with a large sofa, fireplace, and Smart TV. The adjoining fully equipped kitchen includes a gas hob, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator. High-quality Smeg appliances and Le Creuset cookware and serving pieces make the kitchen particularly appealing for guests who enjoy cooking together while on holiday.
The large sliding glass doors connect the living area directly to the sunny, partially covered terrace. Here you will find an outdoor dining table, a comfortable lounge area, a gas BBQ, and a built-in South African braai. From the terrace, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Table Mountain, making it ideal for a relaxed breakfast, a sunny afternoon, or an evening braai with a glass of Constantia wine.
The main bedroom features an extra-length king-size bed, a spacious built-in wardrobe, and its own window and door system opening onto the garden. Directly behind the bedroom is a private and sheltered outdoor shower, a special experience on warm Cape Town days.
The second room can be partially or fully opened to the living room via a large sliding door. Depending on your needs, it can be prepared as a quiet workspace, an additional bedroom with a queen-size bed, or a children’s room with a bunk bed for up to 3 children. Please let us know your preferred setup before arrival.
The modern bathroom includes a walk-in, level-access shower. Every room has its own air-conditioning unit, and all windows are fitted with flyscreens so that fresh air can circulate while insects remain outside.
Fast Wi-Fi, the large Smart TV, and the flexible workspace also make the cottage suitable for remote work and longer stays.
Cottage Riesling is located on the secure grounds of Villa Malbec but has been designed as a separate and privately oriented retreat. It has its own entrance, private outdoor area, separate alarm system, and dedicated secure parking space.

Guest access

The cottage includes the open-plan living and kitchen area, the main bedroom, the flexible second room, the bathroom, the outdoor shower, and an approximately 50 m² terrace with lounge seating, an outdoor dining table, a gas BBQ, and a built-in braai.
Cottage Riesling is located on the same secure property as Villa Malbec but is physically separate and privately positioned. It has its own entrance, separate alarm system, and dedicated secure parking space.
Only the main entrance gate and part of the driveway are shared. There are no shared indoor areas. Villa Malbec, its private garden areas, and any facilities belonging to the villa are not included in the cottage booking.
Four steps lead from the parking area up to cottage level. Once there, all rooms and the terrace are located on one level.
Interaction with guests
We are always available to assist our guests according to their wishes and individual needs. At the same time, we place great importance on privacy and will contact you only when necessary or when requested.
Check-in is conducted in person by the Constantia Cottages team. During check-in, we show guests around the cottage and explain the alarm system, fireplace, braai, BBQ, and the property's most important features.
We are happy to provide personal recommendations for wineries, restaurants, beaches, hiking routes, golf courses, and excursions in and around Constantia and Cape Town. On request, we can also assist with restaurant reservations, tours, airport transfers, car hire, or further travel planning within South Africa.
Should any questions or issues arise during your stay, please get in touch with us directly. This allows us to assist quickly and ensure that your stay remains as comfortable as possible.

Cottage Riesling offers 48 m² of indoor living space and accommodates a maximum of four guests.
The second room is prepared in one of the following configurations, depending on the booking and prior arrangement:
- Office with workspace
- Bedroom with a queen-size bed
- Children’s room with a bunk bed for two children
The queen-size bed and bunk bed are not available at the same time. Please inform us of your preferred configuration well before arrival.
The cottage is located on the grounds of Villa Malbec. Both accommodations are independent and privately positioned, although the main entrance gate and driveway are shared.
The cottage doesn’t have access to a swimming pool. Any pool or other facilities belonging to Villa Malbec are not included in the cottage booking.
Four steps lead from the driveway to the cottage. From this level onward, the rooms and terrace are all on one level. The bathroom has a walk-in, level-access shower.
The private outdoor shower is located behind the main bedroom and is not captured by the exterior security camera.
An exterior camera is installed on the property and overlooks the entrance and terrace area of Cottage Riesling. It is only active when the exterior alarm system is armed. There are no cameras inside the cottage or in the private outdoor shower area.
Important note:
Cottage Riesling is currently under construction. The shell was completed on 15 August 2026; the architect expects completion by late November to early December 2026. Because the house is not yet finished, the images shown are renderings (AI-generated pictures) based on the plans and the materials purchased. We appreciate your understanding — everyone involved believes the finished property will be even more impressive than the previews suggest.
Neighbourhood description
Cottage Riesling is located in green and peaceful Constantia, one of Cape Town’s most beautiful and historic areas. Constantia combines a quiet, nature-rich residential environment with outstanding restaurants, historic wine estates, and convenient access to the city, beaches, and Cape Peninsula.
The famous Constantia wine estates, including Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Buitenverwachting, and Steenberg, are within easy reach. Guests can combine wine tastings, restaurant visits, and relaxed afternoons among the vineyards.
Hikers, joggers, and cyclists will find many options along the Constantia Greenbelts and in Tokai Forest. Mountain bikers can explore the Tokai trails, while golfers have several renowned courses nearby.
The beaches of Hout Bay, Noordhoek, Muizenberg, and Camps Bay are ideal for day trips. Cape Town city centre, the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, and the major attractions of the Cape Peninsula are also easily accessible from the cottage.
Shops, cafés, and restaurants can be found at Constantia Village and in the surrounding neighbourhoods. At the same time, the cottage offers enough peace, sunshine, and privacy to unwind after a full day of exploring.
Getting around
A dedicated secure parking space is available directly on the property.
For exploring Constantia, Cape Town, and the Cape Peninsula with maximum flexibility, we recommend hiring a car. Uber and other ride services are generally readily available in Constantia.
Restaurants, wineries, shopping facilities, golf courses, and outdoor activities are all within a short drive. Please allow sufficient travel time when driving to the beaches or Cape Town city centre, particularly during peak traffic periods.

- Private areas belonging to Villa Malbec may not be entered
- Please treat the cottage and all furnishings with care
Fireplace, BBQ, and braai
- The fireplace, gas BBQ, and braai may only be operated by adults
- Fire and BBQ equipment must never be left unattended
- Children must be supervised around the fireplace and braai
- All fire and embers must be fully extinguished after use
- The gas BBQ must be switched off, and the gas supply closed after use
Air conditioning and energy use
- Please only use the air-conditioning units while windows and doors are closed
- Switch off air conditioning, lights, and electrical appliances when leaving the cottage
- Please use water and electricity responsibly
Security
- Close all windows and doors when leaving the cottage
- Activate the alarm system as explained during check-in
- Handle flyscreens and sliding doors carefully
- Keys and remote controls may not be removed from the cottage or passed to third parties

Exterior camera disclosure
There is an exterior security camera on the property. It overlooks the entrance and terrace area of Cottage Riesling and is only active when the exterior alarm system is armed. The camera does not capture any indoor areas or the private outdoor shower.
Accessibility and steps
Four steps lead from the driveway to cottage level. From there, the entire cottage, bathroom, and terrace are located on one level. The bathroom features a walk-in, level-access shower.
Check-in instructions
Check-In is from 2:00 p.m. at the earliest.
It is conducted in person by the Constantia Cottages team.
Please provide your expected arrival time and preferred setup for the second room several days before arrival. The room can be prepared as an office, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, or a children’s room with a bunk bed.
Upon arrival, we will open the secure entrance gate and show you the designated cottage parking space along the driveway. Four steps lead from the parking area up to the cottage entrance.
During the personal check-in, we will show you around the property and explain the alarm system, fireplace, gas BBQ, braai, air-conditioning units, and the cottage’s main features.
The check-in form will be completed and signed together. Identification or a copy of an identity document will be requested only when required by law or official regulations.
The keys will be handed over once check-in is complete.
Should you expect to arrive late, please get in touch with us as early as possible. An alternative key handover or self-check-in can only be arranged in advance.
The exact address, contact telephone number, and driving instructions will be sent through Airbnb before arrival.
Check-out instructions
Check-Out is by 11:00 a.m. at the latest.
Where possible, we will agree on your departure time in advance. Approximately 15 minutes before the agreed time, a member of our team will arrive at the cottage, conduct a quick inspection, and collect the keys. We prefer to say goodbye to our guests personally.
Please leave the cottage in a reasonably tidy condition.
- Place used dishes in the dishwasher
- You are welcome to start one final dishwasher cycle
- Bed linen does not need to be removed
- Please leave used towels on the bathroom floor
- Remove all personal belongings and food
- Fully extinguish the fireplace and braai
- Switch off the gas BBQ and close the gas supply
- Switch off air conditioning, Smart TV, and lights
- Close all windows and doors
- Return keys and remote controls as agreed

We want to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Cottage Riesling is a private, high-quality retreat designed and furnished with great care and attention to detail.
Please treat the cottage and its contents with the same respect you would give your own home.
Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi is suitable for streaming, video calls, and remote work.
Alarm system
The cottage has its own separate alarm system. The operation and personal code will be explained during check-in.
Please activate the alarm when leaving the property. The exterior camera overlooking the entrance and terrace is only active when the exterior alarm system is armed.
Air conditioning
Each room has its own air-conditioning unit.
Please use air conditioning only when windows and doors are closed. Switch off all units when leaving.
Smart TV
The large Smart TV is located in the living area. Guests may use their own streaming accounts.
Please remember to sign out of Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon, and any other personal accounts before departure.
Kitchen
The kitchen includes:

- “Le Creuset” cookware and serving pieces
Please remove large food scraps before placing dishes in the dishwasher. Only use the dishwasher tablets provided.
Fireplace
The fireplace may only be used after the check-in explanation.
Never leave the fireplace unattended and keep children away from flames and hot surfaces. The fire must be fully extinguished or safely burned down before going to bed or leaving the cottage.
Gas BBQ
The gas BBQ is located on the terrace.
Open the gas supply before use and close it completely after cooking. Never leave the BBQ unattended.
Built-in braai
The built-in braai can be used for traditional South African outdoor cooking.
Please only use suitable fuel. Fire and embers must be fully extinguished after use. Ash may only be removed once it is completely cold.
Outdoor shower
The private, sheltered outdoor shower is located behind the main bedroom. It is exclusively for guests of the cottage and is not monitored by the security camera.
Please use water responsibly and ensure the tap is fully closed after use.
Windows and flyscreens
All windows are fitted with flyscreens.
Please open and close them carefully and do not force them. For effective protection against insects, keep the screens closed, particularly in the evening.
Waste
Please separate waste according to the labels on the bins inside the cottage and the outdoor bins.
Our team will gladly assist with any questions regarding waste separation or collection.
Emergencies
Emergency contacts, responsible team members, and information on the fire extinguisher, fire blanket, and first-aid kit are clearly displayed inside the cottage.
